The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) stipulates that all entities within its jurisdiction must update their information biennially. Even if your company's details remain unchanged if you've ceased interstate operations or your business is no longer operational without notifying the FMCSA, you are still required to provide this update.

Failure to complete the Biennial Update could lead to the deactivation of your USDOT number and may incur civil penalties of up to $1,000 per day, with a maximum penalty not exceeding $10,000.
